Freshers meet the Principal and Dean of Studies’ small groups of Freshers gather in the Shanahan Dining Room every Wednesday night for dinner.  The main aim of this is for Freshers and Principal and Dean to get to know each other in small groups.  The dinners are held every Weds over 4 weeks, and include approximately 12 or so Freshers each week.  The dinner is held in the elegant Shanahan Dining Room.  Everybody (Freshers and Principal and Dean) introduces themselves, tells where they are from, what degree they are doing, and a secret that nobody knows about them!  Conversations flow as people realise they are from the same place or doing the same degree.  And the secrets often generate much interest…  The Principal and Dean of Studies also find time to offer advice about College and University life, and ensure that all students are aware of avenues of support within the College.
