Meet Gloria, Medical student
What is your full name?
Gloria Fong
Tell us a bit about where you are from originally.
Born in Hong Kong and grew up in Vancouver, Canada.
Tell us a bit about your current university studies?
I am a first year medical student at the University of Sydney who is concurrently enrolled in PhD studies at Umeå University, Sweden.
How did you come to live at Sancta?
As an international student, I wanted to find a place that is more than a place to eat, study and sleep. I wanted to live amongst a community of students and Sancta was the most ideal choice. Out of all the Colleges within the University of Sydney, Sancta is home to the largest number of postgraduate residents.
What do you like most about living at Sancta?
I love the genuine camaraderie with everyone at Sancta – from the residents to staff members. There is never a shortage of amazing individuals to hang out with and lean on for support.
What are your plans when you complete your studies?
While my primary intention is to be a doctor, I also envision myself being involved in a variety of fields outside of medicine such as research, volunteerism, advocacy and entrepreneurship.
What advice do you have for potential & new Sancta students?
Potential and new students should enjoy the full range of activities and services (tutorials, choir, sports and etc.) that Sancta has to offer. Most of all, students should look forward to making many supportive and lifelong friends while in College.
