Leadership Programs

Sancta Sophia College recognises the importance of personal and professional development of students and their ability to be leaders in the community and in their future career paths.

Fostering leadership development, we support many leadership initiatives and provide significant financial support for students to attend Leadership Programs both within College, nationally and internationally. In 2010 these initiatives included the National Association of Australian University Colleges (NAAUC) and National Student Leadership Forum (NSLF).

Many student leaders take on the role of O-Week Leaders each year, assisting students who are new to Sancta.

To support the elected student leaders of the College community, further training and workshop initiatives will be introduced in 2012.

House Committee Executive Financial Support

In recognition of their wonderful contribution to College activities, members of the House Committee Executive are each provided with 20% scholarship towards their accommodation fees.

Support for Sport

Sports Scholarships are offered, in partnership with the Sports Union, to increase sporting capacity at Sancta.

Internal Scholarships are also provided by the College, plus an allocation of staff time to provide administrative support.

  • all Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness facilities at casual user rates

Support for Music

Sancta Sophia College has appointed a Director of Music to support the organisation of music and musical activities across the College.

Music performance scholarships are also provided to eligible students.

Music Camps have proved successful, lifting performance and spirit and provided at no cost to students.

A music practise room is available and there are four pianos within the College available for use.
