Resident Assistant Program
Each undergraduate student in College is allocated an RA who is able to RAs provide students with information, support and pastoral assistance. RAs also provide administrative support and security outside of office hours, weekends and public holidays by being the first point of contact for students. Sancta has a strong commitment to student academic and social support based on research evidence which indicates the value of engagement and support for students. Sancta invests heavily to achieve these aims, for example, by engaging senior staff and investing in the Resident Assistants (RAs) program to assist the Principal and Vice-Principal in building a sense of community and providing pastoral care and academic support within the College.
The RA Program has proved its value in many ways, by increasing pastoral care and social support for all students, support for individual students, social interaction across the College with RAs hosting events for their groups twice a semester and support for first year students as they settle into College. Implementation of the program brings Sancta into line with Colleges across the world where RA Programs are a key part of the investment in a support network for students.
