Debating, Drama and Music

Drama

LysistrataSancta students are involved in a drama production every year. The 'Missenden Players' is a joint drama group comprising Sancta and St John's students. In recent years the response to the audition was huge and credit must be given to all those who came along and made the directors’ jobs so hard. Trying to fit so much talent into the initial play was impossible so another play was chosen to accommodate the enthusiasm displayed. A cast was chosen that included four Sancta stage sirens. A phenomenal effort was put in by all involved, culminating in two fabulously successful performances of Noel Coward’s, Present Laughter.

Debating

Sancta Sophia competes in the Inter-collegiate Debating Competition. Debating takes place against the other residential colleges; St Paul's, Women's, St John's, St Andrew's and Wesley. Sancta's outstanding debaters in recent years included Sarah Steele, Adriana Edmeades, Alison Lee and Alexandra Murray. The team was highly successful and won the final of the Inter-collegiate Debating Competition against St Paul’s College.

Music
