Academic excellence is prized at Sancta Sophia. The College is able to offer tutorial support as well as informal mentoring for students from its senior students.College life provides a unique opportunity for students to mix and form long-lasting friendships with those pursuing study in a wide range of disciplines. With only one hundred and fifty students, Sancta is small enough to be friendly and personal yet large enough to find others with similar interests. Students are encouraged to explore and participate in a variety of outside interests and extra-curricular activities, for example, sport, music, choir, drama, film and debating.
Inter-collegiate life with the neighbouring residential colleges can be very busy. There are opportunities for social events, sport, formals, tutorials, drama and music.
Sancta always has several students studying at the University of Sydney's Cumberland Campus. Students usually travel together to the Cumberland Campus.
