Social Events – Informal and Formal

It is a tradition of the University of Sydney Colleges to host an annual informal function or party during the year. Students invite friends and students from other Colleges to attend. It is always a night of tremendous fun and enjoyment. Sancta's Informal is held in a marquee in the Sancta quadrangle in the First Semester. The function is organised by the Social Committee.

The College Formal, held toward the end of the year, is a glamorous event to which partners are invited. It is a black-tie evening and there is a great sense of excitement surrounding the event. The Formal commences with pre-dinner drinks in the Sancta quadrangle followed by an evening in the Holme Building of the University.

The ‘Sophomore Soiree’ and the ‘Dinner Dance for Seniors’ are additional opportunities for socialising, as are debating, musical and drama events.

"I came to Sancta last year when I started my degree in Pharmacy at Sydney Uni. The move to Sancta was a little last minute for me, but since coming I haven’t looked back!!
