Casual Accommodation FAQs

Can I reserve a room with an ensuite?

Rooms with ensuites are limited and are subject to room availability, the College has 8 in total.  When making your reservation please indicate if you wish to reserve an ensuite.  The Conference Coordinator will let you know if there are any available to book.

Is there a minimum stay period?

There is a two night minimum stay for casual guests.

Do you have facilities for the elderly and disabled?

Sancta Sophia College has limited facilities for the elderly and disabled.  A small number of rooms are appropriate for wheelchairs located on the ground floor. An inclinator is also located at the Ground Floor corridor to lead to the Dining Hall.  Please discuss these issues with Conference Coordinator when making your reservation.

Do you have facilities for children?

The College has trundle beds available for use in single or twin rooms to accommodate children.  Unfortunately we do offer cot or high-chair facilities.

What happens if I am unable to keep my booking?

All cancellations of reservations for accommodation must be received in writing; via fax or email to the Conference Coordinator. 48 hours notice is required to obtain a full deposit on your payment.  Any reservations cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will have their payment forfeited. How do I get to Sancta Sophia College?

Once at the College how do I get in?

As Sancta Sophia College provides a secure environment it is necessary to make arrangements to access the College.  Call the Conference Coordinator to arrange access.  Click here for more information. Parking & access page

How do I check-in and check-out?

Check-out and check-in during business hours is through reception. View reception times.Check-in from 2pm and check -out by 10am. Check-out and check-in on week-ends or after business requires contacting the Resident Attendant (R.A) on arrival. View full instructions for contacting the RA.

What if I am late for check-out?

Late check-outs will incur a one night additional charge.

Will anyone be available to assist me with my luggage?

As Sancta Sophia is a Residential college there is no porter service available.  Nor do we have luggage trolleys.

What is included in my room hire?

Where do I have breakfast and other meals?

All meals are served in the Sheldon Dining Hall.  Depending on the month you stay Students may also be using the Dining Hall.  Click here for Dining Room opening hours and meal times go to catering page.  Lunch and dinner can be purchased on a casual basis, see reception during office hours or the Dining Room attendant during meal times for a Meal Pass.

How do I make calls from my room?

On check-in you will be issued with a note giving instructions for your rooms’ telephone number and pin number. All calls made will be documented on your account. Guests wishing to use the phone are required to provide credit card details. Click here for further information.

How can I use my computer in my room?

All rooms have a port for computer connection. Cords are available for purchase at reception if required. Click here for PC instructions or click here for Mac instructions.

Is smoking allowed in my room?

All the rooms at Sancta Sophia College are non-smoking as are the surrounding grounds and gardens.

Can I park at Sancta Sophia College?

What if I need to print a document?

Please visit reception during office hours to purchase paper and instructions how to access the Computer Room printer.

What if I require extra blankets and/or pillows?

Please visit reception during office hours to obtain additional blankets or pillows.  After hours please contact the RA.

What if misplace or lose my room key or Security Blue Chip?

If during business hours contact reception immediately.  If outside of office hours contact the RA to obtain a spare key.  A fee of $250 applies for lost room keys and $50 for the Security Blue Chip.
