Check-in and check-out times

Please check-in between 10am and 5:30pm. Please alert the College when you make your booking if you will be arriving outside of these hours. If necessary use the external blue phone located at the front entrance for assistance from the duty resident (dial 7777). Please check-out before 10am, returning your key to the slot on the left of the reception window.

Reservation policy

You will need to advise your credit card details to confirm your reservation (please do not include your credit card details in the Accommodation Reservation Form). The College requires a deposit equal to one night's accommodation when booking. Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to your date of arrival will incur a charge equal to one night’s accommodation.

Reception

Sancta Sophia College reception hours are Monday–Friday, 8.30am – 5.30pm.

Parking

Parking is available at a charge of $8 per day or $40 per week upon request. Please arrange for parking prior to arrival. A swipe card or code is needed to enter and exit through the main gates of the College. Please note parking is limited, especially during term time. Please contact the Conference and Marketing Manager for parking availability. Parking is also available between St Johns College and RPA hospital for a fee.

Dining

Short-term accommodation guests receive complimentary buffet breakfast in the Sheldon Dining Hall between 7am and 9am. Lunch (12.30am–1.30pm) and dinner (6pm–7pm) are available at a discounted rate. Please see reception if you would like to purchase meal vouchers. If you have not purchased a voucher but would like to dine in the College please contact Sancta's Dining Room Supervisor.

Telephone and internet

Telephone connection is available in all rooms by arrangement. Internet connection is available at a charge of $10 per day. Please arrange for telephone and internet connection prior to arrival or see reception on during office hours.

Lounge facilities

Tea and coffee facilities, a snack dispenser, cable television and a full-size billiard table are available for visitors in the Octagon.

Laundry facilities

The College provides coin-operated washing machines and dryers as well as irons and ironing boards. A private dry cleaner is located opposite the College.

After-hours assistance

If you require assistance out of hours please call the duty resident for assistance by dialling 7777 on College phones, or on the external blue phone located at front entrance of the College.

Security and access

The College has security doors at all entrances. You will need to use the blue chip on your room key ring to gain access to the College building. The front entrance to the College is facing St John’s Oval and the University of Sydney. The rear door is on Missenden Road located half way along the brick wall and opposite the Minimarket.
The College has no lifts. Please advise if you need a ground-floor room when making your reservation.

Travelling to Sancta

Travelling to Sancta Sophia College from Sydney Airport by taxi will cost approximately $25. You must make arrangements for the code number prior to arrival if you require your vehicle to enter through the main gates of the College. The main gates are located on Missenden Road diagonally opposite Rydges Hotel, enter code and continue down the driveway for 70 metres to reach the front entrance. This code is needed again for the vehicle to depart.

A Shuttle Bus service also operates in this area. Alternatively you can catch the train from the Airport to Central Railway Station and then catch a bus or taxi to the College. Buses which travel along Parramatta Rd to the College are the 435, 436, 437, 438, L38, L39, 449 and L40. Alight from the bus on the corner of Parramatta Rd and Missenden Rd.

From the College you can travel to Broadway, Central Station, the City, Town Hall and Circular Quay via bus. Turn right from Sancta, walk 100m to Parramatta Road, cross the road and the bus stop is located on the left. You can catch any of the following buses: 435, 436, 437, 438, L38, L39, 449 and L40.

Local information

A convenience store, cafés, hotel and dry cleaner are located opposite the College on Missenden Road. Turn left on Missenden Road to walk to the post office (100 metres), Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (150 metres) and Newtown shopping and restaurant area (300 metres). View a map of the local area.
