Conferences & Accommodation

Sancta Sophia College presents a wonderful venue for conferences, seminars, workshops and functions throughout the year. Accommodation is available during the University vacations in January, February, July and December. The College was established on the western side of the University of Sydney in 1926 and is built in traditional Collegiate style surrounding a peaceful quadrangle amidst beautiful gardens. The front of the College faces on to St John’s oval and the rear of the College is on Missenden Road Camperdown, just off Parramatta Road.

Conference Venue

The College offers a modern fully-equipped conference room and various seminar rooms seating up to 180 people, enabling Sancta Sophia to meet all your conference needs all year round. We are the ideal location for your next conference, training session, workshop or meeting.

Function Venue

The college has eight function rooms: Common Room, Council Room, Reception Room, Library, Tutorial Room, Sheldon Dining Hall, the Chapel, the Quadrangle and the Octagon. We are the ideal location for your next celebration. Weddings and baptisms can be celebrated in the College's Chapel.

Accommodation

With one hundred and forty spacious bedrooms Sancta Sophia College provides comfortable accommodation for individuals, school, sporting and general interest tour groups during the University vacations.

Casual accommodation is available in the University vacations and occasionally rooms may be available during the University semester. The College provides a convenient, and secure environment, a home away from home and is poplular with visiting academics and postgraduates from the University of Sydney, and medical staff and students from Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Catering

Sancta Sophia College is able to provide catering for your conferences and functions. We can provide conference attendees with tea and coffee on arrival, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. We also have facilities for drinks functions and a barbecue in the Sancta quadrangle. Catering is also available for morning and afternoon teas, lunches, dinner parties, weddings, cocktail parties and special functions. View our sample menus.
