Having meals together in the Sheldon Dining Hall is an important part of our community. It’s not just a place to enjoy nourishing food but an opportunity to connect and build relationships with others.
Everyday dining
Three meals a day
A fully catered university experience All residents enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner each day in the Sheldon Dining Hall. Breakfast is available from 6:30am to 9:30am on weekdays, with extended brunch hours on weekends from 6:30am to 11:00am. Lunch is served from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, and dinner from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
Balanced and varied meals Menus follow a 4-week rotating cycle that complements the weather, seasonality and Sancta’s sustainability and health mindset. Lunch and dinner include both meat and non-meat protein options, plus flexible sides such as salads, starch/carbohydrates, and vegetables.
Dietary requirements Menus are designed to accommodate a range of dietary needs and preferences. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are available at each meal, and allergies and intolerances are taken into consideration. Students with specific requirements can discuss their needs with staff upon arrival.
Formal Dinner
A cherished weekly College tradition
Shared at the start of each week Formal Dinner is held on most Monday evenings during semester and is a longstanding part of College life. Undergraduate and postgraduate residents, staff and invited guests gather in academic dress for a shared two-course meal in the Sheldon Dining Hall.
Guest speakers and student performances Guest speakers from a wide range of professional and academic backgrounds are invited to address the community at each Formal Dinner. Speakers often share insights from their careers, research or leadership experiences, giving students exposure to different perspectives and possibilities beyond their own field of aspiration. Students also contribute to the evening through through music and other performances.
