The Quadrangle
Heritage Building comprises 146 rooms across three levels and accommodates most undergraduate residents at Sancta. Rooms include a mix of twin-share and single occupancy options with shared bathrooms, and are fully furnished and offered on all-inclusive residential contracts covering meals, utilities, room servicing, pastoral care, academic support and more.
Most undergraduate residents live in Sancta’s Main Building, also known as Heritage Building, the historic heart of the College. First built in 1926 and expanded over the following four decades, it remains the centre of daily life at Sancta. The Dining Hall, Library, Quadrangle and many of the College’s historic and most loved shared spaces are all located here, giving the building a sense of warmth, continuity and sense of old-world academia that many students find becomes one of the most memorable parts of their time at College.
Heritage Building features include:
Although undergraduate accommodation is located within Heritage Building, a small number of residents live on the ground floor of Graduate House. All Sancta residents, whether undergraduate or postgraduate, enjoy full access to Graduate House, including its two common spaces, two communal kitchens, secure bicycle storage room and rooftop terrace.
Undergraduate accommodation includes a mix of twin-share and single rooms, all within a shared residential setting supported by 12 modern shared bathrooms located throughout the building. Most first-year students begin in twin-share rooms, an experience that helps create early connections and makes the transition into College life more social and supported. A small number of ensuite rooms are also available, typically for students in their second or third year.
All rooms are fully furnished and designed to support both study and day-to-day living. Each room includes:
No two rooms in the Heritage Building are exactly the same. Each has its own layout, proportions and outlook, creating a level of individuality that is rarely found in modern student residences. This is something generations of Sancta students have loved, with rooms often remembered for their character and personal feel.
