The Quadrangle
A cherished space for all Sancta students and staff past and present, The Quadrangle is a large rectangular garden space in the centre of the Main (Heritage) Building. It offers tranquillity, nature, and simplicity and has been used for large outdoor functions such as open-air cinemas, weddings, cocktail parties and summer banquets.
Best availability: January, July, December.
Perfect for: Cocktail parties, weddings, gala dinners, barbecues, receptions, photography, outdoor activities.
Figtree Terrace
Situated in the modern Graduate House building, Figtree Terrace is a ground floor timber decked courtyard spanning several metres, covered by an ancient fig tree and facing a picturesque garden. Figtree Terrace can accommodate a large number of guests for a standing event; it is most suited to cocktail parties, barbecues and banquets.
Perfect for: Cocktail parties, barbecues, receptions, photography, outdoor activities.
Rooftop Terrace
With stunning city skyline views and overlooking Sydney Tower, the Graduate House Rooftop Terrace is welcoming and intimate. This space is a favourite for rooftop cocktail parties, morning teas, barbecues and smaller group meet-ups.

Lower Common Room
The Lower Common Room is a large heritage space with a refined look and feel. Ideal for almost any event style, the space offers high ceilings, polished timber floorboards, a grand piano, stained glass windows, a sandstone fireplace and refined, comfortable furnishings. The room can be split into two via a large sliding door in the middle.
Perfect for: Banquets, large conferences, presentations, cocktail parties, seminars, intimate gatherings.
McDonald Room
The McDonald Room is part of a more recently added section of Sancta’s main building. With ample natural light and space for up to 100 guests theatre-style, this space is commonly used for training seminars, retreat days and as one of the main rooms for conferences.
Perfect for: Banquets, conferences, presentations, classroom-style events.
Council Room
This room has been used by the managing board of Sancta Sophia College for meetings for over 80 years. Charming high ceilings and windows with green outlooks to the University of Sydney make it a tranquil space for small to medium-sized professional events.
Perfect for: Small or medium conferences, group meetings, conference breakout room.
Shanahan Room
This heritage dining room has been exceptionally well maintained, with original details and furnishings and a charming courtyard.
Perfect for: Boardroom meetings, breakfast/lunch/dinner events, conference breakout room.
Lane Mullins Library
This petite heritage room offers direct access to Sancta’s beautiful Quadrangle garden, and surrounds its guests with walls decorated with historic book collections. The Lane Mullins Library is a superb choice for intimate gatherings, classroom-style events, cocktail parties and morning tea events.
Perfect for: Boardroom meetings, conference breakout room, classroom-style events, intimate gatherings.
Sheldon Dining Hall
The Sheldon Dining Hall is a grand space with the capacity to seat up to 200 guests.
Best availability: December, January.
Perfect for: Large functions, formal dinners by candlelight, wonderfully presented buffet luncheons, breakfast/lunch/dinner events, reunions, banquets, cocktail parties.
